Event Preview

Event Preview lets you inspect a recorded event and the browser state captured for that step. Open it by selecting an event in the Session Timeline.

The recorder changes its status to Preview, displays the stored screenshot on the main canvas, and opens event details in the contextual panel. Live interaction is paused until you close the preview.

The panel displays information relevant to the selected event, such as:

  • screen coordinates and mouse action;
  • typed text or special key;
  • scroll position or distance;
  • selected value;
  • pause duration;
  • prompt or checked text;
  • XPath and page-structure settings;
  • the size of a selected screen region.

The exact fields depend on the event type.

Some event types expose additional settings in Preview:

  • Mouse Click - enable or disable Ignore page structure for that event.
  • Text Checker - update the expected text and click Save text.
  • Authentication (OATH) - change the text key or stored secret used by the event.
  • Ignored Zones - add, move, resize, hide, select, or remove zones associated with the event.

Changes made to ignored zones are not applied until you click Save ignored zones.

Close the contextual panel or select the active event again to leave Preview. The recorder returns to Live mode and resumes the remote browser session.

If you try to leave while an unfinished selection or unsaved ignored-zone edit is active, TestCLIX asks whether you want to discard that progress.
