Text Checker
Text Checker verifies the text of a selected page element during every scenario run. It is useful when the content matters more than the exact visual appearance of the element.
How to add a Text Checker
Section titled “How to add a Text Checker”- In the recorder, make sure you are in Live mode.
- Choose Add text checker from the toolbox, then click the element whose text you want to verify.
- Review the captured value in the Text to verify field. You can correct or replace it before saving the step.
- Click Approve.
You can also right-click the target element and choose Text checker. The recorder reads the text at that position and opens the same approval panel.
The approved value is stored in a Text Checker event on the Session Timeline.
Editing the expected text
Section titled “Editing the expected text”Select the Text Checker event in the timeline to open Event Preview. Update the expected value and click Save text. The new value is used by future replays and monitoring runs.
Best used for
Section titled “Best used for”- Headings, labels, prices, and status messages
- Confirming that a result or confirmation message is displayed
- Checking content where colours and layout are not important
For checks that need to understand meaning rather than match a stored value, use AI Assistant. For visual matching, use Compare Screen Fragment.
Caveats
Section titled “Caveats”- Dynamic values such as dates, counters, order numbers, or personalised names may change between runs and should not be checked as fixed text.
- Select the smallest stable element that contains the value you need. Selecting a large container can include unrelated text.
- If the content loads asynchronously, add a pause before the Text Checker step.
